Aster - Sapphire

The Aster ‘Saphire’, 'Aster x dumosus', a Proven Winners selection, has large, fluffy, lilac blue flowers with yellow centers blooming August through September. With its perfectly clean, compact, dark green, disease resistant and rust free foliage, this plant has a height of 12-15” and a plant spread of 24”. Aster ‘Saphire’ does require full sun, but can take some afternoon shade. Place in a moderate soil range with good drainage that does not become extremely dry during the summer. Aster ‘Saphire’ makes an excellent container plant or in front of the garden feature and looks great with ornamental grasses. ‘Saphire’ is attractive to bees, butterflies and birds and looks beautiful all season long. This Echinacea has a plant height of 24" and a plant spread of 18-24". For best growing results, plant in full sun. The deep golden-yellow petals have an orange cone with 4" fragrant flowers and will bloom from June to August.
