Astilbe - Visions in Red

The Astilbe Chinensis Visions in Red PP#119, 'Chinensis Visions', produces rusty maroon red flowers that are tinted with a faint rosy tone that is ever-changing as the flower plume matures throughout the spring. Mass astilbe in groups in partly shaded gardens for maximum color and impact. These spring blooming beauties are ideal for borders, containers, and gardens on the edge of woodlands. Throughout the summer lacy deep green foliage adds ferny texture to garden beds long after the blooms have faded. Astilbe needs well drained, but moist and highly organic soil; humusy forest gardens are a perfect example of where these plants will thrive. Astilbe is admired for its attractive foliage and elegant flower plumes. ... additional information

Geranium - Southcombe Double The Geranium Southcombe Double, 'Geranium oxonianum', displays fully double, pure pink blooms that sit atop bright green stems. They are perfect in the perennial border and work well as a ground cover too. There are only a few double-geraniums in cultivation and don't look like a Geranium at first glance. Southcombe Double blooms almost non-stop throughout the summer, into fall. They do best in sun, but will tolerate some degree of shade. This plant would look wonderful in a pot on a sun-drenched porch and is also deer resistant. Geraniums are grown in almost any soil as long as it is not wet. For the most part, cranesbill are long-lived and do not require a lot of care.
