The Begonia Spectrum Ann, 'Begonia x hybrida', are wonderfully floriferous plants that are at home in the garden, or in patio containers. This begonia is a cross between the winter flowering Begonia socotrana, and the summer flowering tuberous types of begonias. The Spectrum Ann begonias are distinguished by their large, double flowers that are a light salmon pink color. These very vigorous Spectrum Begonias are excellent in porch boxes and hanging baskets. In cool or wet climates, consider growing your Spectrum begonias on a patio or in porch boxes. These plants perform best when soil temperatures are above 60°F and when planted in flowerbeds. They should not be subjected to more than ½ day of sun as they will not tolerate a full sun setting. Too much shade however, may cause the plants to become soft and less prolific in bloom. ... more

Hot Peppers - Cayenne Long Slim The Hot Pepper Cayenne Long Slim, 'Capsicum annuum', produces dark green, long fruit maturing to red. The Long Slim Pepper plant is a strong, spreading plant, 20-24 inches tall. It is great for processing and drying. Their intense flavor adds zest to sauces, salads, soups, stews, dips and dried seasonings. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often. Wash your hands immediately.
