Coneflower - Sunset
The Coneflower Sunset, 'Echinacea purpurea', is an easy to grow flower that produces vibrant orange daisy-like flowers, overlapping one another. The center of this coneflower is brownish, making it different than the rest. Blooming from July to October and a major attractor to butterflies and bees and deer resistant, it is a must for any perennial gardens. With its dark green foliage, Echinacea ‘Sunset’ stands 24-30” high with a plant spread of 18”. For best results, plant in full sun in a well drained area. Echinacea is known for its large flower heads that turn to seed in the fall. A great choice for cut flowers, adding a wilderness look to your garden, combining great with Leucanthemum ‘Becky Daisy’ or in cottage gardens, it is a definite must. Evening Primrose - Glowing Magenta The Evening Primrose, Glowing Magenta, 'Oenothera kunthiana', is a new Oenothera unlike any other. The deep pink flowers stand out against its deep green foliage. It has a plant height of 6” and a spread of 5-10”. ‘Glowing Magenta’ is unusually compact for its species and has an extremely long flowering time, (June to September. ) Oenothera requires full sun and needs a good drainage site.
