Delphinium - Delft Blue PPAF
The Delphinium Delft Blue PPAF, 'Delphinium', produces vibrant blue flowers, the same shade as the famous Dutch Delft Blue pottery, with broad white edges, giving it a unique striped effect. It is characterized by its upright plant habit and freely flowering habit. A mutant of the very popular and longstanding cut flower variety, 'Volkerfrieden'. Delphiniums are worth almost any effort to grow because they are so beautiful. They need full sun and a good, deep, well-drained, evenly moist soil that has a high humus content. Very easy to grow in most garden soils, and ideal for the cottage garden border. Many gardens use delphiniums in front of stone walls for protection from high winds. It is outstanding in the perennial border. ... additional info
Geranium - Southcombe Double The Geranium Southcombe Double, 'Geranium oxonianum', displays fully double, pure pink blooms that sit atop bright green stems. There are only a few double-geraniums in cultivation and don't look like a Geranium at first glance. Southcombe Double blooms almost non-stop throughout the summer, into fall. Geraniums are grown in almost any soil as long as it is not wet. They do best in sun, but will tolerate some degree of shade. For the most part, cranesbill are long-lived and do not require a lot of care. They are perfect in the perennial border and work well as a ground cover too. This plant would look wonderful in a pot on a sun-drenched porch and is also deer resistant. |
