The Letuce Mesclun Bon Vivant Spicy, 'Lactuca sativa', is a custom salad mixture with exciting flavors, colors, and textures that will excite your interest and taste for salads. We've added several unique and tasty greens to the Bon Vivant Mix to make a tasty and texture filled European salad blend. This variety contains Tango, Royal Oak Leaf, Red Salad Bowl, Black Seeded Simpson, Grand Rapids TBR, and Red Salis, Mizuna, Green Endive, and Arugula seeds. Bon Vivant Spicy Lettuce is an annual cool season plant. It will send up a seed stalk, which causes foliage to taste bitter, in heat generally above 90 degrees. Successive plantings of Bon Vivant can produce lettuce spring through fall. Plant in early spring, 3 to 4 weeks before the average last frost date, and successive plantings thereafter every 3 weeks until 5 weeks before fall frost. This lettuce likes light, fertile, moist, and well drained soils. They will grow in light shade. Lettuce grows well near cabbage, beets, carrots, chives, garlic, and onion. SweetPeas have 1 to 2 inch flowers that are romantically fragrant and are wonderful cut flowers in bunches. A key element in successful growing of the Sweet Pea In the Pink is very early planting. Plant this sweet pea in full sun, but in a cool a spot as possible. Position them away from winds and rotate locations from year to year to prevent sweet pea pests. In cold climates plant the seed in early spring, as soon as the soil can be worked. In warm climates, plant in October through January for spring bloom.
