Lilac - Minuet
Minuet Lilac, Syringa 'Minuet', is a light purple flower that buds open into single, fragrant, soft white-pink blooms. This compact, slow growing lilac has large, dark green leaves that fully clothe the branches. Minuet is a great dwarf plant with fragrant light purple blooms. It requires full sun for exceptionally profuse bloom production. Minuet adapts to many soil types, not invasive, and suckering is minimal. It is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun. It tolerates light shade, but best bloom quality and disease resistance occur in full sun. It prefers rich, moist, neutral soils. It should be pruned as needed immediately after flowering. It grows 6-8 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide. ... more information
Mock Orange - Sweet The Sweet Mock Orange, Philadephus coronarius, is a deciduous shrub. This name is probably derived from the fragrant white flowers resembling orange flowers that some species and cultivars of mock oranges have. Some mock oranges are without fragrance. Flowers are single, semi-double, or double and they vary in size. The bloom period is quite short, normally not more than 7 to 10 days. The summer foliage is dark green and quite free of pest and disease problems. There is no color change in the fall. It is possible that most mock oranges will suffer from occasional tip kill in zone 4 and quite often in zone 3. |
