Morning glories seem to bloom earlier and with more blooms when they are constricted to a pot. The flowers open in the morning and close in the evening. The intense, 2 to 4 inch across violet blue flowers, have a vivid, incandescent ruby star on the petals. Grandpa Otts blooms from summer until first frost and will bloom more abundantly during cool weather. Water them frequently so they do not dry out. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date. This excellent vine will cover fences and trellises, grow as ground cover, or hang in large baskets or pots.
