Pansy - Purple Rain

The Pansy Purple Rain, 'Viola x wittrockianais', is most unique in that it is a mounding, cascading pansy, perfect as a border plant in the landscape or ideally suited to baskets, planters and window boxes. The dark purple flowers with hints of blue in the center make it an attractive choice for gardeners. The Purple Rain Pansy pansy reachs heights of 12 to 18 inches without a leggy look. The small purple flowers "cascade" over the spreading, well-mounded plants. This free flowering variety that is ideal for hanging baskets, flower towers, pouches, and groundcovers. Licorice - Lemon The Licorice, Lemon Licorice, 'Helichrysum petiolare', is a pale lime plant that lets you do a little to get a lot. Licorice plants are exceptionally easy to grow, requiring little fertilizer. The Lemon Licorice is restrained grower with velvety soft foliage. This plant is an excellent choice for hanging baskets or mixed containers. It's especially useful in mixed containers as it tends to grow outward which makes a planter or basket look larger. Licorice do best in a well drained soil, either in beds or containers. Lemon Licorice produces small white flowers that are insignificant and can be removed. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial.
