Poppy - Shirley Single Blend

The Poppy Shirley Single Blend, 'Papaver rhoeas', has masses of tissue-paper like flowers and it is a very easy annual to grow in the garden. The Shirley Single Blend as 2 inch spectacular flowers that sway in the wind in even the slightest breeze. Flower colors include pink, white, red, and rose shades. Shirley Poppies bloom duriing the spring and summer. The Shirley Poppy does best in fertile well drained soils. They should be placed in full sun and kept evenly moist. Pinching off spent flowers significantly increases bloom period. Plant in early spring as soon as the ground can be worked or in the fall in mild climates. Pepper - Chile - Cayenne Red The Pepper Chili Cayenne Red Long Thin 'Capsicum annuum', is an excellent hot flavoring for chili, other hot foods. The pencil-thin Cayenne peppers are used fresh in hot sauces and chilies, died or ground for cayenne pepper or pepper flakes, as a flavor in oil and vinegar, and as a decoration. The plants are decorative garden plant with what seems like hundreds of peppers on each plant. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often. Use gloves and do not touch any other part of the body after harvesting.
