Potentilla - Mango Tango™

Mango Tango™ Potentilla, Potentilla fruticosa 'UMan' (PP12,258), has striking and unusual bicolor flowers with petals of orange-red radiating to yellow, blooming all summer long above the bright green summer foliage. The plant has a tidy form and attains a mature height and width of approximately 2 feet. It is suited to a wide range of soil types and growing conditions. Mango Tango is a slow to medium growing plant developing into a compact and dwarf shrub. Potentilla is a deciduous shrub that does best in full sun and will flower all summer if trimmed in late June or July, along with fertilizer and water. Its great as foundation plantings, in borders or alone in smaller landscapes. The flowers show an intensity of red during the cooler weather. You can plant it with the assurance that it will live. Very tolerant of summer heat and humidity. Larger flowers may be obtained by pruning back hard to 2-3 buds in early spring.
