Spiraea - Little Princess
The Spiraea ‘Little Princess’, Spiraea japonica, is easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. It tolerates a wide range of soils. Prune in late winter to early spring. “Little Princess” Spiraea cultivar is a dense, upright, compact, mounded deciduous shrub which typically grows to 2-4' tall with a similar spread. Profuse pink flowers in small corymbs cover the arching stems of this plant in late spring. Flowers and leaves all appear on the same side of the arching branches. Flowers are attractive to butterflies. Narrow, dark blue-green foliage. Holly - Red Sprite Red Sprite Winterberry, Ilex verticillata 'Red Sprite', is a dense compact plant that produces multitudes of bright red, one half inch fruits that persist throughout the winter. The deep green foliage turns purple-bronze in fall. The fruiting branches are great for decoration in the garden or in the house. The leaves drop off the plant in late fall to expose the beautiful berries. You'll need both male and female plants to produce fruits and Red Sprite requires Ilex 'Jim Dandy' for pollination and berry production.
