Sweet Bell Peppers - Big Early F1

The Sweet Bell Pepper Big Early F1, 'Capsicum annuum', is huge. This elongated bell pepper produces a 3 to 4 lobed-fruit up to 8 inches long by 4. 5 inches wide. Stuff a Big Early for a full meal because they are so large you do not need two for a meal. Big Early Bell peppers are an excellent choice for garden beds and large containers. They are Tobacco Mosaic resistant. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures. Pinch off early flowers to encourage plant growth. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often.
