Yucca - Color Guard

The Adam's Needle, 'Yucca filamentosa ‘Color Gard’, is a clump forming perennial with yellow strips down the middle of the dark green foliage, looking ribbon-like. In the winter months, the foliage turns pink. The creamy, bell-shaped, white flowers hover over the foliage and are fragrant. The red coloration on the long blades highlight the flowering crown. ‘Color Gard’ has a plant height of 24” and a spread of 36”. It should be planted in full sun and in a well-drained area. ‘Color Gard’ looks great in a subject garden or in containers and is also a butterfly attractor. ... additional information

 

Oxeye - Loraine Sunshine The Heliopsis Loraine Sunshine, 'Heliopsis helianthiodes', a Blooms of Bressingham plant, is a great combination of large, golden-yellow flowers and variegated foliage with green veins. Blooming from July till frost, this Heliopsis grows to 30”’ tall with a plant spread of 30”. This easy to grow perennial attracts butterflies and is deer resistant. ‘Loraine Sunshine’ needs to be grown in full sun, but can tolerate some afternoon shade. It can be planted in average, well-drained soil, but do not allow it to dry out. A wonderful addition to island beds or in the back or borders or as cut flowers. ‘Loraine Sunshine’ may be slow to appear in the spring, but the blooms persist long after other perennials have completed their show.
